Interactive and Systems Design

Designed and helped implement systems revolving around personnel protective equipment (PPE), how to put it on, and how it interacts with the environment when the user is training. The system was designed around ease of use, so that users could quickly decide what the optimal PPE is for whatever scenario they may encounter.

Interactions in the environment were somewhat tedious when I was first introduced to the project, because the project was mostly prototypical, and followed a technical manual verbatim. During the first few months of working on this project, I mapped out user flow and narrowed in on what aspects of the training really appealed to our mission of giving the user optimal experience on the missile system. Overall, the interactions are much simpler, and allow the user to focus on what's happening, instead of what buttons are needed to be pressed to make them happen.

UI/UX Refinement

Due to the lack of design input when this project was starting, player feedback was almost non-exist. The design team too great focus on refining the user interface, adding guidance to the player in forms of refined details for steps to take, or hints for objects in the world.

One of the biggest user experience improvements made by our team was the interaction system and simplifying moveable objects in the trainer; changing it from being 4-6 button presses to pick up and place objects, to just one.
